• Many trains in Italy offer a discounted fare for children that is 30% to 50% off of the adult base fare.
• Children using the child fare will be assigned their own seat and must be accompanied by an adult when traveling.
• Children between the ages 4 to 14 years old are eligible for the child fare when traveling on high-speed Frecciarossa, Frecciabianca, Frecciargento, InterCity, InterCityNotte, EuroCity and Thello trains.
• Children between the ages 5 to 15 years old are eligible for the child fare when traveling on Cisalpino trains.
• Children between the ages of 4 to 11 years old are eligible for the child fare when traveling on Regional trains.
• Infants and Children under the minimum age for the child fare travel for free and must be seated on an adult's lap for the duration of the trip.
